Dr. Allen Rodrigo is Professor of Computational Biology and
Bioinformatics at the University of Auckland, and Director
of the Bioinformatics Institute. He is also Editor-in-Chief
of Applied Bioinformatics. Prof. Rodrigo obtained his
doctorate from the University of Canterbury, before working at the
University of Auckland, Stanford University, and the University
of Washington. He returned to the University of Auckland
in 1999. Prof. Rodrigo's research interests lie in the area
of evolutionary bioinformatics, particularly, the analysis of
measurably evolving populations and the development of
statistical methods in evolutionary genetics and
phylogenetics.
