Instructors

Raja Farhana is currently a postdoctoral research fellow at the Institute of Biological Sciences, Universiti Malaya. Her research focuses on probing into matrix metalloproteinase roles in disease progression. She is particularly interested in developing and adopting bioinformatics approaches on molecular data to gain insight into the molecular evolution and the organisation of molecular system in diverse organisms from prokaryotes to eukaryotes. She obtained her PhD in bioinformatics at the University of Manchester. She is also teaching at the Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris, where she loves sharing her experience and willing to impart her knowledge to her students, while exploring other areas of research in education.

Dr Hari completed his PhD in the area of Bioinformatics from University of Malaya. For his dissertation, he worked on the genome sequencing of the first Malayan pangolin using Next Generation Sequencing technology. While currently he works as a data scientist analyzing industrial data from sensors, he has always remained passionate about omics and its revolutionary applications. In his previous role as an academic, he delivered lectures and workshops on Genomics and Transcriptomics locally and within the region, i.e. Indonesia.
