Classes of AMBIS membership
Ordinary members, student members, corporate members, honorary members, and
life members. Membership of any class shall be contingent upon conformance with
the established principles of professional ethics.
Ordinary Members
- Persons who hold academic or professional qualifications in a recognised health field;
- Persons who do not hold academic or professional qualifications in a recognised health field but who have been employed in a recognised health field for an appropriate period; and
- Persons who do not hold academic or professional qualifications in a recognised health field but who have been professionals in the computer industry for an appropriate period and have shown interests in medical informatics.
Life Members
- Any person who has served as an Ordinary Member for 3 consecutive years shall be eligible for Life Membership on payment of a sum of $200.
- Life members shall have full voting rights.
Student Members
- Full-time or part-time students at institutions in Singapore or overseas pursuing programmes leading to academic or professional qualifications in a recognised health field.
- Student members shall have no voting rights.
Honorary Members
- Persons, irrespective of their eligibility for Ordinary Membership of the Association, who are considered by the Executive Committee to have exceptional merit in furthering the aims and interests of the Association.
- Honorary members shall have no voting rights.
Corporate members
- Organisations with interests in medical informatics are eligible for Corporate membership.
- Each Corporate member can nominate a representative to the Association.
- The purpose of the Corporate membership is to provide interested organisations with an opportunity to support the Association in its activities in a meaningful way.
- Representatives of Corporate members shall have no voting rights.
